It's ridiculous how any athlete could be paid to travel and sit around to watch his "teammates" play. I never fully understood the point of sending an athlete home and not give him the priviledge of playing him or even letting him into a team's facility. If you are paying him why not let him play and at least earn his money. Instead the Knicks have decided to have him sit at home and make the easiest money anyone can ever make. "I'm earning my check by doing nothing," Marbury said Wednesday night while watching the Knicks play the Lakers. Either get rid of the guy and open up a roster spot to sign someone who can actually contribute to the team or let play even if it means coming off the bench. I do not believe D'Antoni's statement that Marbury is not the type of player that should come off the bench, there is clearly some animotisy towards Marbury in order for him not to play. Marbury has not done anything to D'Antoni or even Walsh to deserve this. However he clearly has upset the Knicks franchise as a whole, it kind of makes you wonder if Isiah Thomas or even James Dolan are influencing someone's decision. For now, the Knicks can continue to try to come to an agreement on a buy out but I do not think they realize that the longer they wait the more ridiculous they are looking because in the end Marbury is still going to get PAID.
He's a worse cancer to a team than cry baby TO. Get rid of him already.
