Going into the final week of the season the irony of this game is plain to see. An average quarterback in Chad Pennington that was released for a once great quarterback in Brett Favre. Now Chad has the chance to knock the NY Jets out of a playoff spot and ensure one for his team. The Hall of Fame quarterback that was brought in to win games has looked like an average quarterback this season meanwhile Chad has looked great (MVP contender) and brought back the Dolphins from the depths of depression into a team that could contend in the playoffs. Chad is not the only player going into Sunday's game with a little animosity, the Jets kicker, Jay Feely, was released in favor of a rookie by the Dolphins after having a record year in field goal percentage. But that is minimal compared to the hype in the quarterback decision that both teams made during the off season. Where are those Jet's fans that rallied with WFAN's Craig Carton at the traning complex during the summer yelling "Let's Get Brett!" Was dropping Chad a reluctant move and would fans take that back? I do not see how Chad could not have succeeded in the Jets offense with the individuals that they acquired during the off season. The playbook remained partially the same even with Brett Favre in the line up beside having more spread offense calls. Brett Favre was not the gunslinger that he was suppose to be, throwing the deep ball all around! He looked like Chad, dinking and dunking the ball but WORSE!!!! At least Chad completed the ball to his receivers and not the other team's defense! Chad Pennington has an opportunity that comes very rarely in knocking out your former team out a playoff position. He is looking very confident as he states, "As only fate would have it. This situation doesn't surprise me. I pretty much banked on it. It's a good thing. I'm excited about it. The whole team is excited to have one shot to get into the playoffs."

Yes sir...payback's a bitch! LOL. I was never a fan of Chad but as a Dolphin fan, I'm happy with his performance this year and glad he's on the team. Go Dolphins!
ReplyDeleteChad is a gritty player and he figures out a way to win.
ReplyDeleteAs a Cowboy fan, what really annoys me about Tony Romo is his "aw shucks" attitude after a loss. My team needs a football version of Paul O'Neill.
