With the Detroit Pistons slipping out of playoff contention can the city of Detroit afford to have them rebuilding? Detroit is one of the most affected cities by the current recession and all that helps sometimes is sports. However, when you live in Detroit even being a fan brings you misery! The Detroit Lions were the first team in NFL history to go 0-16. The Tigers are coming off a disappointing season in which they were last in the Central Division. The Pistons are currently in 6th in the playoff standings but are only .500 and have lost 6 in a row. Detroit has not lost 32 games since 2002-2003 season and are having one of their most disappointing years considering the East in not strong in the middle of the pack. The only life support for the dying city is the Red Wings but it's hockey, it's like having your life in the hands of amateurs, hockey is not consistent and does not have enough fans nationwide. Sports and Entertainment are usually what help families through an economic depression but I think it's safe to say that Detroit is an exception!

As of today seven straight losses! Not looking good!
